Former Atlanta Falcon All-Pro Fullback Ovie Mughelli Breaks into Medical Sales Game

    By Aaron Tyson

Ovie Mughelli is no stranger to success both on the field and in the field business. A 2003 graduate of Wake Forest University, one of the highest ranked universities in the country; he received a bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine.

His accolade filled career in the NFL began when he was drafted 134th overall by the Baltimore Ravens during the 2004 NFL Draft.  During his four-year career with the Ravens, he would be blocking for All-Pro running back Jamal Lewis, which would lead to him being selected to the All-Pro team in 2006.  He would conclude his career with the Atlanta Falcons making the All-Pro team and Pro Bowl in 2010.

For many athletes, the majority of the success they encounter is usually during their playing careers. Coming from a family with a medical background and applying his degree in health and exercise science, Mughelli was prepared to transition into his second passion after football.

“My first year in the National Football League I saw players that I thought were better than me have bad practices or get hurt and then get cut. I saw them taken completely off guard trying to figure out what to do next with their life. I didn’t want that to be me.”

After retiring from the National Football League, Ovie spent some time in T.V. and radio, but would eventually turn to medical sales where he was most passionate.

“My father and sister are both doctors so I grew up in a medical household. I was even a Sports Medicine major at Wake Forest University. I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon and get athletes back on the field.”

To obtain experience in the medical field, he has interned and shadowed with some of the top companies when it comes to medical devices, labs, allergy testing, and pharmaceutical sales. Ultimately deciding to create his own medical consulting company, ONO Medical Consulting where he brings solutions to physicians that improve patient outcomes while increasing practical revenue. He has also worked in areas such as hereditary cancer screens, pharmacogenetics, carrier screens, toxicology, and Automatic Nervous System tests to help physicians screen for heart disease.

Since then, Ovie has found his niche sharing the revolution of sports science through BEMER USA, which has partnered with the NFL Alumni Association to introduce groundbreaking medical technology for modern preventive medicine. BEMER USA’s services are being utilized in over 40 countries, thousands of current and former athletes, and over 4,000 hospitals and clinics.

BEMER (Bio Electromagnetic Energy Regulation) is a biophysical application that activates the body’s own powers of self-healing. A unique impulse is sent to the body, where it enables a multifaceted influence on the entire organism.  In this way, BEMER helps to maintain health, and supports in healing.

    • Better General Blood Flow
    • Improved Nutrient & Oxygen Supply
    • Waste Disposal
    • Better Cardiac Function
    • Improved Physical Fitness
    • Endurance, Strength and Energy
    • Enhanced Concentration, Mental Acuity, Stress Reduction and Relaxation

Being a former professional athlete, Mughelli understands the pressures and difficulties that come with transitioning away from the game. When asked what advice he would give to transitioning athletes he, “Surround yourself with good people. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. There is always a way to intern and watch, listen, and learn from a leader in the field where your passion lies. And if you don’t know what you are passionate about spend time in several fields.”

BEMER can finally offer a non-invasive no side effect solution to the chronic joint discomfort, brain fog, lack of energy, headaches, sleep issues and other ailments that players deal with after the game. The best part is that most players can get this device fully reimbursed if they want.

“I’d be happy to share with anyone who wants to listen how I’ve been able to transition my life from an NFL fullback to a BEMER distributor and medical consultant that helps physicians improve patient outcomes and increase practice revenue.”
